Now archived, but you can still donate to the TTU School of Music!

Archival website chronicling Bill Ballenger's epic 1000-mile run to save the historic Holtkamp Pipe Organ at Texas Tech University.

Bill did it! On March 26 2011 he, with a crowd of friends & supporters, crossed the 1,000-mile line. But you can still contribute to all the School of Music's diverse initiatives and needs; contact janeen.gilliam@ttu.edu for more information...

and THANK YOU BILL!

From Bill: THE LAST FIFTY MILES!!!

Bill Ballenger writes:

"As of this morning, I completed 956 miles. Nearly finished with the 1,000 mile goal. This morning another $1,000 check came in and we were able to post $170,340 (on our way to the $175,000 goal).

"I will be finished with the run on Saturday, March 26. Inviting everyone to campus to run the last 3.1 miles with me. Or, they can walk the 1 mile route just to be a part of the festivities. 8 a.m. Start time, in front of the Music Building!"

If you are interested in running the "final miles" with Bill Ballenger, and/or if you can serve as a water-carrier, starter, route monitor, or in another volunteer role--and if you have a few bucks not yet contributed to this great cause!--please be in touch with Janeen Gilliam at janeen.gilliam@ttu.edu

Finish line in sight--right on schedule. GO BILL!

MILE EIGHT HUNDRED!!!!

Incredible milestone: Bill Ballenger has BROKEN MILE 800. As of 2.9.2011, he has logged 800.14 miles (http://rnkpr.com/af7jt6). In addition, he has posted $162, 393 toward the necessary $175,000 to receive matching funds from the challenge grant generously offered by the CH Foundation.

Those who've pledged: THANK YOU! And start planning *now* to cut those checks--because Bill B is gonna do this!

Way to go, Bill!
